In 2019 we were afforded the opportunity to visit with several quality-focused and innovative producers in Jaén Cajamarca in northern Peru. During a local competition between the coop members of La Prosperidad de Chirinos, we were impressed by the coffees presented by three individuals in particular: Mariano Peña Huertas, Juana Maria Larreategui, and Ignacio Roman Flores. This offering is comprised of selected lots from these three producers, which they have chosen to call Rayos del Sol ("sunlight").

Rayos del Sol comes from a highly committed group of producers who benefit from a well-run, supportive co-op. The three lots that make up this selection represent some of the best coffees this group has to offer.

The three producers whose coffees make up this selection work with several high quality varietals grown at high altitudes, creating a unique range of flavors, acidity, and complexity in the cup.
