When you set up your subscription, you’ll choose:

• How many bags you’d like to receive
• How frequently you’d like to receive them
• Your roast profile: Drip, Espresso, or Both
• Your flavor profile: Classic, Unique, or Combined

These preferences help guide the coffees selected for your subscription.

From there, we will automatically rotate through a selection of seasonal coffees which meet your set preferences! You’ll be able to see the coffees selected for your upcoming shipments and, when available, make changes to your selections through your account.

Your roast profile tells us how you typically brew your coffee.

Drip is intended for customers brewing with drip coffee makers, pour-over, and similar methods. Espresso is intended for customers brewing espresso.

Your roast profile helps us select coffees that are suited to the way you brew. Update your preferred brew method at any time or even opt for a mix of both.

Your flavor profile tells us what kinds of coffees you enjoy.

Classic coffees tend to be balanced, familiar, and comforting, with flavors that lean toward chocolate, caramel, nuts, and other familiar notes.

Unique coffees are more distinctive and adventurous, often highlighting fruit-forward, floral, or otherwise unexpected flavors.

Setting flavor profile preferences means we will only include coffees which fall under your selected category. Combined gives you a mix of Classic and Unique coffees, so you can enjoy a little of everything.

Yes! You’ll be able to see the specific coffees selected for your upcoming shipment and, when available, swap them for another coffee you’d prefer. 

Simply log in to your account before your order processes.

The subscription program highlights a seasonal rotation of single origin offerings throughout the year. 

Occasionally, premium releases or exceptionally small lots will not be offered in the subscription program, but can be chosen as a one-time add-on to your next shipment.

S.O. Blend, Pacific Wonderland, and Decaf are excluded from the Single Origin program but are available at a discount via auto-ship.

Yes, you can update your preferences as your coffee tastes and needs change. Coffee selections, bag size, quantity, roast profile, and flavor profile can all be adjusted through your account at any time.

Coava coffees are seasonal, and our subscription is designed to change with them. Your roast profile and flavor profile help guide our selections as coffees rotate throughout the year. That means your subscription can remain personal while still giving you opportunities to discover something new.

All coffee purchased through our online store is fulfilled as whole beans. We recommend grinding your coffee immediately before brewing for the best possible freshness and flavor. Whole bean coffee also gives you more control over your brew!

The subscription program offers the same flexibility as shopping directly from our website while offering the added benefits of convenience, predictable and competitive pricing, and long-term value.

Subscriptions are offered at a flat rate per-bag, including coffees that would typically sell for more as individual purchases.

Subscription orders have a flat-rate shipping charge of $6.95. Shipping for one-time online purchases vary based on the order and destination.

Absolutely. Your subscription is part of the Coava rewards program, so every order continues to bring you closer to your next reward. Points can be redeemed for rewards including discounts, free items, and more.

We roast all coffee to order because we believe your coffee should arrive perfectly fresh. Our production team roasts coffee five days a week, Sunday through Thursday, and orders typically ship within 48 hours of being placed or 24 hours of being roasted. Orders placed after 12pm PT on Friday will typically ship the following Tuesday.

Autoship is a simple recurring-order option for select year-round Coava coffees. It’s designed for customers who know what they like and want to receive that coffee regularly.

AutoShip allows you to receive select coffees on a recurring schedule (every two, four, six, or eight weeks) with a 5% discount on each order. This option is currently available for our year-round offerings, including S.O. Blend, Pacific Wonderland, and Decaf.

Autoship options are displayed on each applicable product page.

Yes! We offer free pick-up for those who live locally in Portland, Oregon. Orders are typically fulfilled and ready for pick up within 72 hours. You will receive a notification as soon as your order is ready.

Pick up hours at Roastery Retail Cafe (1015 SE Main St.) are 8am-3pm daily.

*If the cafe is closed, please ring doorbell for assistance if needed*

Pick Up orders are considered abandoned and discarded if they have not been picked up within 30 days of fulfillment.

If you’re happy with your current subscription and want it to transition automatically, you don’t need to do anything!

The new subscription program is live for enrollment. You can request changes to your current subscription before eligible legacy subscriptions will transition to the new subscription program on September 8th.

Until then, your orders will continue as usual. On September 8th, you’ll gain access to the new subscription tools and be able to manage your orders directly through your account. As part of the transition, some details of our program, including shipping and product offerings, are changing. 

Your existing bag size, quantity, and order frequency will carry over to your new subscription. You can review and update your roast profile and flavor preferences from your account at any time.

Depending on your existing subscription, some options may be changing, including the retirement of 2-Kilo bags and grind requests from the subscription program.

If you currently receive 2-Kilo bags, we’ll transition your subscription to the available 1-Kilo format. You'll continue receiving the same amount of coffee, just packaged differently.

A small number of existing subscriptions don’t have a direct equivalent under the new subscription program. If your legacy subscription requires a different arrangement, we’ll contact you directly before the transition.

Legacy subscriptions will transition to the current subscription pricing and shipping structure on September 8th.

Subscriptions will continue to be offered at a discounted flat rate per-bag price, including coffees that would typically sell for more as individual purchases. While subscription shipping was previously free, subscription orders will now ship for a flat rate of $6.95 to anywhere in the United States. 

The new subscription program offers the same flexibility as shopping directly from our website while offering the added benefits of convenience, predictable pricing, and long-term value.

If you have remaining shipments on a prepaid subscription, those shipments will continue as usual until your final pre-paid shipment is fulfilled. You are welcome to let your susbcription lapse naturally or sign up for a new one once the final order ships!
