Kilenso
Ethiopia
Kilenso Mokonissa is one of the smallest villages in the Borena Hagermariam District of Sidama. The cooperative is made up of a group of highly dedicated and supportive farmers with a strong commitment to high quality processing and sustainability.
The farmers there use organic practices, though they are not certified due to the high cost of the certification. In the past, coffees coming from Kilenso were blended into larger lots and sold under the name “Ardi”, a catch-all for any coffees coming out of this area. Since Coava began separating it out, the Kilenso has become a customer favorite, due to its unique flavor profile. We are proud to offer such a high scoring, clean, and delicious coffee that has been through the full natural process.
Lavender and grape jam balance this naturally processed coffee. Its consistent quality and popularity are a testament to the diligent care put forth by the small community of Kilenso Mokonissa.
