Every year, the “Lo Mejor de Monserrate” micro-lot competition takes place in Monserrate, located in the Cordillera Central mountain range in the southwestern state of Huila. The competition allows producers to have their lots cupped and scored independently of the rest of the community and provides an opportunity to establish long-term direct relationships with coffee roasters. This is how we began working with Nora Pillimue several years ago. In the last competition, her hard work and dedication led to her coffee winning first place.
