Nathalia Maria

Brasil

The Cerrado Minerio Region in Brazil is the only area with a “Protected Geographical Indication ''. This lot is produced on Fazenda Serrinha, and was the very first farm purchased by José Maria in 2004. As a boy, his grandfather had a small coffee farm where his father and uncles worked. José has many great memories of picking cherries beside his family and playing around the coffee trees with his grandfather. José constructed everything on the farm with his bare hands, including the very first light post on the property. The main house on the farm is located on Fazenda Serrinha, where José and Ebe Maria and their family still reside. Ebe’s family comes from a deep lineage of coffee pickers as well. Their farm is home to the drying patios, raised beds, wet mill, silos, orchard, garden, and horse stables.

Nathalia Maria is José and Ebe’s daughter, and has followed in her parent’s path by taking over this 120 hectare farm and helping to run operations. The long term vision this family embodies an endless commitment to quality that shines through in every cup.
